A Democrat and California Representative, Maxine Waters, has raised concerns about the potential risks associated with President Donald Trump’s memecoin, TRUMP. She warned that the coin could open the door to corruption and pose risks to national security. During a meeting on January 22, the US House Financial Services Committee discussed plans for the 119th session of Congress. Waters expressed concern that the Republicans’ plan, given their control of the House of Representatives, did not include monitoring of crypto companies and other financial institutions.
